I think this is one of my favorite tasks! I am a big foodie (really that is a word). I love the traditions of the recipes, the smell of cooking, and serving my family and friends! My sister always states she loves coming to my house during the holidays because it is 'like coming home'; my husband thinks my cooking improves during the holidays!
I think it is because it does not feel like a 'chore' to cook for a dozen extra people (or more)... my son believes it is because I cook 'with love'. He is 11 so permitted to say corny things that I will repeat!
I do have most of my recipes in my holiday planner already, with just a few additions and omits during the year - recipes that are not 'doing it for me' anymore or something that did really well and I want to repeat!
I would like to transfer all the meal plans and recipes to a binder of their own - something with sheet protectors! I am forever dripping and splashing my poor old planner. I think separating the recipes to a binder of its own would make the task of messy cook vs. big book less daunting.
Our canning jars have not hit the shelves yet, may be due to my northern location? I have loads of need for them this year, especially with the price of food! I plan on buying as much as possible locally when the price is low - and freezing or canning the summers bounty for the winter!
Keeping my eyes open for summer clearances on needed crafting items. Shopping with a list is always a good idea! Also helps keep you from purchasing things you really do not need, and having no money for the items you do! After all how many rolls of orange ribbon do I need? Do not answer that.
As for the other tasks this month:I do not do a gift closet - so I can check that off the list.
My mother-in-law does the family letter each year - all I need to think about is cards!
I wish I could post a photo to show you the recipe binder as it is worked on, unfortunately my camera has met an early demise. Enjoy your day!

Wow! Your blog is beautiful! Thanks for the words of encouragement. I can't wait to see your ideas this season. Its almost here!
Hi
I love the design of your blog, very Christmassy!I used to have blogs for each season, but that became too cumbersome and so my Christmas blog evolved into The Old Parsonage. I talk about a lot of things, including Christmas. Thanks so much for becomming a follower!
Of course, foodie is a word. I've thought about starting my own dictionary to cover all the words that I have thought up that I thought Webster ought to include.
Me Again
I just added you to my blog list for Keepers of Christmas!
Enjoy your day!

Wow, I just found you tonight from a list of Christmas blogs on someone else's blog. Beautiful background. Stop by to visit me at Christmas Memories in My Heart.
how do we add you as a blog we follow?
on my blog there is a place to jump in and follow, I don't see it on your's.
I would love to keep a holiday eye on you! LOL
Hi Debbie, if you are signed into blogger there should be a tab at the top of the page, about centre - between 'flag blog' and 'next blog'. Thanks for visiting, HTH.
